My name is Conor Rees and I am the creator, author and designer of this creative lifestyle magazine, 99 Percent Lifestyle. I am passionate and interested in design, photography, filmmaking, writing and showcasing inspiring peoples stories to help motivate others.

 

The aim of 99 Percent Lifestyle is to showcase great experiences, unique places, new products and creative people, either through features, interviews, or through other forms of multi-media content. Most of all this is about telling stories and sharing these unique experiences, with the idea that this could inspire you to think differently or try something new, be-it in the form of a short article on a travel destination or an in-depth interview with a creative that is carving out a truly unique path in this world.

 

Issue one looks at a diverse group of creatives such as Youtuber Devin Super Tramp, digital artist Justin Maller and photographer Finn Beales. The other main collection focuses on Birmingham’s food scene and looks at three different locations, Pure Bar, The Plough and Annexe. There are also interviews with the founders and owners of Tens sunglasses and Good For Nothing Clothing as well as other lifestyle features including some writing advice form the creator and writer of BBC show Peaky Blinders.

This magazine began as a project for my final year of study in Journalism at the University of Worcester. The project is a solo piece of work and all of the design, layout, interviewing, and writing had to all be conducted by myself.

 

99 Percent Lifestyle has continued on the web platform and issue 2 is currently in production. Issue 2 will be produced in a physical form and hopefully sold in an upcoming project. There are even more interviews for issue 2 with creatives from all over the world. The main aim is that people can get their hands on a physical copy of the magazine with the web counterpart working in unison with the physical product. The idea is that the web medium will continue to grow an audience that is interested in the copy, design and photography used on the site and then people can get there hands on a physical copy to take with them anywhere or simply keep on their coffee tables.
